Travel: Cote d' Azur

I love France! On this summer holiday we flew to Nice airport, hopped on a train to Cannes and then a bus to St Tropez and spent the day there. The place is so small that there is not much to do or see unless you own a yacht or generally have heaps of money to spend!

There are small and pretty cobbled streets filled with designer stores and cafes. By the main pier there are restaurants and a great ice cream shop called Glacier Barbarac (7 Lotissement St Claude).

The old fishing village are as they call it is really near the bus station, and on your way there you can go past the Chanel house. If you just fancy a stroll, checking out some of the grand yachts is an amusement in itself!

After our day in St Tropez we took a boat (around 9 euros) to St Maxime where we had a family rented villa up in the hills. We spent the rest of our holiday there lounging on the beach, eating, shopping and chilling by the pool. One of the most interesting places I've eaten in was a patisserie called Marc Pierrugues (6 place Victor Hugo). I had a huge drink and a big ice cream sundae...for dinner!

St Maxime is definitely worth a visit, with lots of things to do and places to shop. There is a large choice of restaurants and some really cute stores. South of France isn't the cheapest place to go to but for 4-5 days it won't hurt your pocket too much and you will thoroughly enjoy your stay.

Travel: Mallorca / Palma

Last year I went to the island of Mallorca, Spain for three days and had the best time. Palma is a such beautiful little city and it really pleasantly surprised me. It might have a reputation for being very mainstream, cheap and filled with regulars but it was much more than that. I stayed by the harbor on Paseo Maritimo and took a nice morning and evening walk after my steak dinner, spent a day shopping and walking around the centre, and another day on a boat snorkeling. I also went to Magaluf for a day but let's just say it's not somewhere I would go back to!!!

I would recommend taking a map and going out to the streets without guidance for adventure's sake, but if you want to be super organized the See Mallorca website has some great directions in detail here.

One of the best parts of the trip was how cheap everything in Zara was! I wish I'd bought more.Some photos below...
