So my grandparents have this beautiful long, white crochet plant pot holder which I remember really well from my childhood.

It was always there in the corner by the couch, in all my baby pictures and never really moved over the past 20 years!

I never, ever gave it any thought until recently when I started seeing something similar in a boho-chic home which I admired.

I think they look really beautiful inside or outside the home, or just in a conservatory. If you have lots of rooms, multiple pot hangers set up to hang on different heights would also look really pretty.

Home Proud: Vintage vanity tray

Whilst doing some eBay browsing I accidentally came across this gorgeous vintage vanity tray. The seller obviously wasn't aware of its true value and sold it to me for just £16! I know...antique bargain!

These were used with the vintage brush and mirror sets back in the day, simply as a display dish on the vanity tables.

The details on the embroidery on this one are stunning, and the metal around it is as well. Quite rare to find such a lovely tray so I had to have it. Home Proud: Rough 'n' chic

My favoured decorations and accessories are always antique or shabby chic, and a I think a great way to decorate a cozy house is with some 'rough' things. I think beige couches go well with sanded white frames on the walls, clean white kitchens go well with wired fruit and bread bowls, and beautiful, delicate bedding goes so well with worn out art.

These are only some of the options to decorate a home in a modern but 'French' cottage style, and I've found a few great things on Cox & Cox (amazing shop!), as well as a lovely diffuser from one of my favourite London brands, Boujies.

I wrote about the wonderful Boujies Black Dahlia diffuser before, and I still have it! They really do last for months and give any room a perfectly balanced scent. What I really like about these is the packaging, it's so pretty and fits in anywhere discreetly even though it is quite a big bottle.
