Beauty: Venus ProSkin Sensitive

I went to a lovely little event tonight...a little sanctuary in the middle of cold London town (the weather has been arctic lately!!). The event was situated in a beautiful old building on the rooftop, and although outdoors, was very cozy and warm under a canopy - stars and all!

It was created to promote the Venus ProSkin Sensitive razor, as a must have beauty tool this winter. We always take good care of our faces during the harsh winter weather, but we tend to neglect our pins, don't we? They need even more moisturisation during the cold, dry weather, and a good, sensitive razor always helps avoid irritation.

There was lots of candles, heaters, faux fur, blankets and even mulled wine and cocktails alongside our delicious little picnic hampers. We chatted away, had a manicure and hand massage, and devoured the yummy brownie after a great dinner.

Christmas came early?

We received a beautiful cashmere snood in the Venus colour in our goody bags

I have always been a big fan of Venus razors - they are the only razor that you KNOW you can use when in a hurry and that it won't cut you. You also know you will have smooth, silky legs within minutes. Here are some of the reasons why these razors are so great:

* They feature 5 floating blades spaced close together to reduce pressure and achieve a closer shave

* They have an extra-rich protective ribbon of moisture that lubricates and protects the skin whilst providing a close shave with less feel of irritation

* They have an enhanced lubricating strip that helps improve glide over the skin

* The soft handle gives great control even when wet

* The razors are dermatologically tested and accredited by the Skin Health Alliance

Style: iPhone 6 cases

Yipeeee I just got an iPhone 6! I've had it for over two weeks already but am still so excited...this is mainly because I have never had an iPhone (cue shock, horror...)!!!

It was always too expensive, but after finding a great deal as a new customer with Vodafone, I am now only paying £30 a month for 1GB of data, unlimited texts and 600 minutes. Perfect! I got the gold version, and have so far had so much fun with lots of apps. The best feature by far has got to be the camera - everything is so much clearer, and there are numerous settings to make your images look amazing, including light adjustment.

I'm still getting used to the slippery sides, and really need to get a cover to protect the case and hopefully the screen...I really, really hope mine doesn't break like everyone else's (Apple why haven't you done something about this??).

Here are some really pretty iPhone 6 covers I have found so far...

Most of these are from a website called Society 6, and you will be ale to get the prints on even more products such as duvets, computer cases, clocks, mugs, etc. The website is similar to Etsy but it caters to artists who create prints for items...pretty cool and the below cases are all only $15.

Adopted, £25.22

Sonix Calico, £22.07

Adopted, £25.22

As I'm not actually sure just how much protection the above may offer, you could also opt for the classics such as a clear rubber case, or a nice bumper like the below.

New Finds: Emotional Baggage

Ever heard of The School of Life? It's a great little company in Soho, London (global, too) with experts and classes devoted to helping people like you and me develop emotional intelligence through the help of culture. They address issues such as fulfilling work, how to master the art of relationships, how to understand one's past and how to achieve calm. I haven't had a chance to attend a class yet but have checked out their little shop and I just couldn't resist buying this bag (£35) when I saw it

Perfect for gym gear, groceries or notebooks, etc. when you are dressed down for work or just going to a cafe...The best thing about it is that it'd pretty amusing...and it's really good quality (it better be for that price!). The tote comes in blue as well.

As told by The School of Life: It’s not possible to go through life without burdens of this kind. But it makes an enormous difference whether we know how to acknowledge them and whether we understand them. When we fail at this, we get defensive and bitter. We claim we're not lacking self-confidence, it's just that other people are full of themselves. We insist we're not envious; it's that other people are greedy. We say we're not rebellious, but the world is too conformist. And we're definitely not hard to live with; it's just our partners who have turned out to be pathetic.
This is emotional baggage badly carried. At The School of Life, we believe in trying to learn ways to be more deft about the damage we are burdened with: how to fathom it, how to set it in context and how to warn others of its existence in good time (when we are still calm). This bag celebrates one of the most glamorous projects any of us can undertake: learning how to carry our emotional baggage well.

Another little gem I found online for just £9 from CafePress...Have fun! :)

New Finds: Rain boots for Autumn

The good old Pied a Terre cowboy boots have taken a good battering and have truly been worn to pieces. It makes me sad and it's the reason why it's taken me so long to buy a new pair of boots...I was looking for the same kind but realistically would have never found it so eventually gave up! I waited until October to start looking for a good, comfortable pair of boots that would last me through the Autumn and Winter but mainly through the London rain.

I found a few good pairs in Kurt Geiger, Zara and Topshop, but in the end opted for these beauties from the Dune Black premium capsule collection...

I've honestly always stayed away from Chelsea boots, because I am petite and don't usually suit this style (it's for the leggy tall ones!). But as soon as I put them on I was surprised at how lovely they looked with both jeans and dresses, but the best part was how comfortable and soft they were.

As you can see I have already been wearing them in nicely :) The images show the boots after having been worn for a week

(The rug is from Marrakech's souk markets)
